Will Irish Hotels have a Happy Christmas?
Well Christmas bookings are already down between 7 and 10 percent compared with last year. Guests have also been spending less when they stay in hotels this year and so the sector's overall income has fallen by up to 30%. However, for the HOTEL GUEST there is better value than ever this Christmas.
"Christmas in hotels tends to appeal to older couples without family commitments, and that market should hold reasonably well, particularly as there is some great value to be had this year" according to John Power of the Irish Hotel Federation.
