One thing that bugs some discerning hotel guests concerns misleading menu descriptions - what about ordering "Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice" and being given a glass of concentrated instead?
Tell us what you have found particularly disapointing about your hotel stay. We are compiling a list - hotels need to know what their guests REALLY think but are perhaps too polite or shy or just too busy, to take the time to tell them. Tell us, and we might even have a prize for you! Contact us at info@hotelreviewsireland.com

The g Hotel in Galway, one of Hotel Reviews Ireland favourite hotels, has just been awarded as the top hotel in Ireland on the prestigious "Travel & Leisure 500 World's Best Hotels 2010"
As well as being ranked Ireland's top hotel, the G is among the top 100 hotels in the world, according to Travel & Leisure. This is certainly a great achievement for Galway, the West of Ireland, and tourism in Ireland generally. Well done g hotel, we always knew you were great!

Tourism Ireland have just launched their Market Plan for 2010 which aims to restore overseas tourism to growth. They acknowledge that international experts have forcast a decline of -2% in visitors to Ireland next year, however they plan to buckle that trend and in fact are aiming to increase tourism to Ireland by +3%
Great Britain, Germany and the United States will be the major areas of investment for the tourism body and they are focusing on the "Value Message" when selling Ireland abroad.

Will Irish Hotels have a Happy Christmas?
Well Christmas bookings are already down between 7 and 10 percent compared with last year. Guests have also been spending less when they stay in hotels this year and so the sector's overall income has fallen by up to 30%. However, for the HOTEL GUEST there is better value than ever this Christmas.
"Christmas in hotels tends to appeal to older couples without family commitments, and that market should hold reasonably well, particularly as there is some great value to be had this year" according to John Power of the Irish Hotel Federation.

HOW LOW CAN YOU GO?
Recently published figures show that hotel rates in Ireland rank 26th in Europe and concern is being voiced in the trade that the low rates being advertised by Irish hotels are unsustainable.
Will it be possible for hotels to charge higher rates in the future when things pick up if guests are used to such low prices? The dilemma continues for Irish hotels as to how low can you go?
